Inspired
Okay, so last week I was inspired beyond belief. The Josh Groban concert Mom and I went to in Dallas was phenomenal, and although I had heard this song a hundred times, the song “Don’t Give Up (You Are Loved)” really hit home with me. I had always thought of it as talking about children in Africa that Josh had visited…since that is where the music video is filmed.
But this time, for the first time, the song was talking to me. Every word resonated in my heart.
“Don’t give up/It’s just the weight of the world/when your heart’s heavy/I will lift it for you/Everybody wants to be understood/Well, I can hear you/Everybody wants to be loved/Don’t give up, You are loved/Don’t give up/Because you want to burn bright/When darkness keeps you/I will shine to guide you…”
I came away from that show with a renewed sense of purpose in my life. I want to lose the weight I have gained over the last ten years. I want to be all I can be, and not let my personal fears hold me back. I want to open myself up to receive the love from my family and friends that I have not let myself truly soak in.
I joined Weight Watchers (again) on Thursday. I ask for your prayers. I want the light of the Lord to shine on me and guide me.

The Moment You’ve All Been Waiting For…

Now I’m going to take a nap!
It’s Time To Make The Donuts
The first four days of small business ownership have been good. I can’t complain at all. Except my feet hurt. Anyway, we are in the process of getting on the Krispy Kreme route so THEY bring US the donuts and I don’t have to go into Wichita and get them or have my Dad pick them up after work (thanks Dad). They are selling really well and I’m not even having to eat them all!
Getting up at 4:30 in the mornings is not very challenging, yet. This morning I woke up at 3:30 am all on my own, wide awake. I think I’m still being powered by adrenaline and the excitement of opening the shop. Tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday evening we are going to be open for dessert. It is a yummy menu…Chocolate Molten Lava a la Mode, cheesecakes, peach cobbler, and an assortment of cakes and pies. Plus coffee drinks and biscotti and stuff like that. I’m really in hog heaven with the coffee stuff. I love making them. I got one of those Magic Bullet blenders from an infomercial (a moment of weakness!) and they work SO well for making smoothies and drinks. I feel a bit bartender-ish but not too much, thank goodness.
I wanted to update everyone on the progress. I’m still trying to figure out how to post the before and after pictures so you can see how the shop looks. It’s really cute and I’ve gotten lots of compliments and positive feedback.
Cheers!
Our Grand Opening!
Well this morning Chad and I rolled ourselves out of bed at 4:00 am and opened the coffee shop at 5:30! It was a GREAT opening day. We have muffins, bagels w/cream cheeses, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, and best of all, Krispy Kremes! We are going to start carrying them for our donut line. We also have smoothies and gourmet coffee drinks. I’ll try to add a picture of it soon, when I figure out how to do that. Well, it’s 8:30 pm and I’m exhausted! It’s my new bedtime!
