It’s January 22nd
For those of you who think it’s February. Maybe I’m the only one, but I have felt like it was February for about 2 weeks.
Anyway, here’s a little survey to help unbore the afternoon.

My mom always calls me “Precious” in a sarcastic tone. I call her that too. It’s mutual sarcasm.
How old were your parents when you were born?
My mom was 16, my Dad was 21. Isn’t that illegal?

They know who they are and why.
Was your sixth grade teacher a man or a woman?
A woman… Miss McFarlane. She taught us how to play poker.
What was the last thing you drank? Diet Dr. Pepper, which I am becoming quite fond of.
At what age do you think a person starts to get old? When they give up trying to feel young.
What was the last thing you celebrated? My grandma’s birthday, we took her bowling!
Have you ever had any teeth pulled? Yes, and thinking about it makes me hurt.
What was the first job you ever had? Besides babysitting? Cashier at a small grocery store.
Do you wash your hair or your body first when taking a shower? Hair.
Are your parents still married? Yes. 30 years.
What is the toy you remember the most as a kid? Lite Brite
Do you think you will vote this year? I don’t feel compelled to, but probably will just to keep my brother from berating me.
What was the last thing you cooked in the oven? Casserole Sunday that burnt. My oven just sporadically jumps up to 500 degrees with no warning.
What craft do you think your good at? Scrapbooking/making cards
What was the first tape/cd/record you owned? Actually it was the Oak Ridge Boys, “Fancy Free”. I loved “Elvira”. I was 4. I still have it.
Have you ever eaten something other people might think is gross? No. I don’t eat anything remotely gross.
What famous person do you like that others may not? Josh Groban…he’s not gay and he’s not a sissy or an opera singer.
Have you ever invented anything? I have cockamamie ideas all the time but never actually try to market them worldwide or anything. Ask me about my gift shop idea for Helena, Montana (“Helena Handbasket”), my doggie treats (“Lickerdoodles”), and don’t even get me (or Jeff) started on Daisy Lane Gifts.
Where is the most unique place you like to eat? I like The Artichoke in Wichita.
Who do you think you clash with the most? People who have blatant disregard for the welfare of children. Crack-smoking parents and the like.
What time of day are you most likely sitting on your couch? Whenever I should be exercising.
What color is your toothbrush? Turquoise
What is the closest grocery store to your house? Jim’s Foodliner, 17 miles away.
When was the last time you colored with crayons? Last Sunday morning when I taught the kids Bible Class.
Have you ever owned a plant? What was it? Do ficus trees count…..the fake ones?
Have you met anyone famous? John Mayer, Justin Timberlake, Laila Ali, David Hasselhoff, Jim Brickman, most of the Memphis Grizzlies NBA team
What was the worst injury you have ever had? Broken arm

Do you have any special talents? Oh, too many to list (sarcasm being one).
Have you ever been to a nursing home? Who hasn’t?
What kind of job did your mom have when you were growing up?
She stayed home and babysat teacher’s kids so she could have summers off.
Have you ever known anyone thats been on tv, including you?
I did commercials in high school and was a news anchor in college on scholarship for a semester. I also drive cars in commercials sometimes now that I work at a car dealership.
What was the most interesting animal you have seen in the wild? I don’t go to “the wild.”
What holiday do you enjoy the most? Pretty much the whole season between the beginning of Fall and Valentine’s Day.
What was the first video game you ever played? Super Mario Brothers on Nintendo.
What is the one thing you own, that if it got lost, you would be bummed? My great-granddad’s wedding band. He and my great-grandmother were married over 65 years. I’d also be sad if I lost the piano I inherited from her. But how exactly does one “lose” a piano?
Do you have a favorite breakfast item? Cinnamon Rolls and bacon, but not together.
What do you find yourself buying all the time? Stuff for the house, scrapbooking stuff
When was the last time you got a real letter in the mail? I do not honestly remember.
Do you have a most prized piece of jewelry? I’m pretty fond of my wedding set, since it took me 27 years to get it.

What article of clothing would you say you need more of in your wardrobe? Jeans that fit right.
What chore seems the most daunting right now? Finishing painting my kitchen and the spare bedroom. Cleaning my carpets.
Were you born in the state you live in? Yes, but I’ve lived in 4 other states in between times.
Have you ever lived in a house that has been broken into? Probably….you should have seen some of the neighborhoods I lived in.
